Travel Insurance for CARP Members

2021 Pre-Season Savings… an event two years in the making!

In the summer of 2019, we introduced new lower rates for our Travel Choice 2 Single-Trip and Multi-Trip Emergency Medical Plans… they were our lowest rates in years. Great news for CARP members: those rates are still in effect, and will stay in effect until October 30, 2021.

So lock in your rate by October 30, 2021 and save. If you’re not yet comfortable to travel again, you can still buy now to take advantage of the savings. There’s no penalty to change your travel dates prior to departure, even if that’s 11 months from now! Or if preferred, you’ll receive a full refund.

As CARP’s recommended and trusted travel insurance provider, we encourage you to follow the recommendations of the Government of Canada and medical professionals around the world during these uncertain times. But when you choose to travel again, be assured we’ll be here for your protection.

Planning To Travel Inside Canada?

YOU SHOULD HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE

Government health insurance plans do NOT cover all of the medical expenses you may incur while travelling in Canada. The reciprocal agreement for services between the provinces and territories is only equal to the coverage provided in your home province or territory. And it differs across Canada.

Outside your home province, some plans will not cover prescription drugs, ambulances, specialists, emergency dental or x-rays. There are exclusions for all non-medical expenses, including travel expenses associated with trip interruption.

Travelling inside Canada without insurance is not as financially risky as venturing out-of-country without coverage, but your incurred costs could be substantial. Just an air ambulance back to your home province can cost you as much as $20,000.
